Psychema - Bygoness EP

Psychema are a metal band from Helsinki, Finland who formed in 2007. This is the second EP, and is rather confusing in that parts of it work exetremely well, while others seems a little more jumbled and confused. They are certainly trying to bring in a lot of different styles with melodic metal also at times coming across with real brutality, while at others they are far more atmospheric. The vocalist obviously feels that he can sing in a myriad of styles, but he should really concentrate on the more extreme forms as it is with these that he is the most effective. Overall this is an interesting EP, but would be better if there was a strong producer who could cull some of the ideas and streamline them a little more. But, even though this isn’t nearly as good as it might be, these are still guys to keep an eye on.
