It’s somewhat hard to fathom that this is a debut album from a young band, and that it has only just been released at the beginning of 2013 as it is as if the last 15 years or haven’t taken place and instead we back when Death bands were knew that they had to wear black, have their promo photographs taken in graveyards (and of course these couldn’t be produced in colour) and just worry about the music. Well French trio Necrowretch are old school all the way, taking the band Death as their starting point and just moving on from there. They have released demoes and even a vinyl single, and now they have taken the important step of giving up their day jobs and managed to sign a deal with Century Media. Singer/guitarist Vlad and bassist Amphycion recorded this album with a session drummer in just ten days, but have now secured the services of Desecrator to take the band forward.
If you can imagine Chuck Schuldiner mixing it up with a load of Swedes fifteen years ago then you will have a good idea of what this sounds like. Certainly not anything dramatically new, somehow there is something rather refreshing and honest about this. Worth investigation, so for more details visit
