Orchid Wizard of War Nuclear Blast
As an appetizer for their upcoming second full-length record ‘The Mouths Of Madness’, Orachid have released this 10” vinyl EP. The title cut is from the new album, “Demon’s Eye” is something of a rarity while “Albatross” is from the debut. If you enjoy proper psychedelic Sabbath crossed with Black Widow then this is a real treat. Bring on the album! www.nuclearblast.de
We Came As Romans Hope Nuclear Blast
I was lucky enough to catch these guys at a festival in Auckland a few years ago, and of all the bands new to me before that day these were the ones that impressed me most with their metalcore twin vocal attack and plenty of passion. Unfortunately they appear to have been sanitized somewhat since then and while pleasant enough the lead cut just isn’t raw enough for me. But, “The King Of Silence” has a great mix of melody and metal so maybe there’s hope after all. www.nuclearblast.de
The Memphis 77 Get Alive Secret Entertainment
Rough, raucous, NY Dolls have joined forces with The Stooges and The Ramones to bring forth something that bleeds honesty and dedication. This doesn’t belong in a CD player but in a sweaty bar, speakers to the ceiling, and a floor covered in beer. www.inverse.fi
The Psycho Season Unwilling EP Inverse
The Psycho Season is a rock band from Oulu, northern Finland and describe their music can be described as a dark, gloomy rock with slight influences from Metal, Grunge and classical rock. It is edgy, melodic without losing the gruffness and strong bottom end. I would love to see these guys in concert as this blasts along and there is a real drive and passion at play. Definitely worth further investigation. www.inverse.fi
