According to the press release, “The album 'Priceless' by Canadian singer and song-writer LISA PRICE is considered to be a real AOR jewel and was a hot import tip in the year of it’s original release in 1983.” I think the most important thing to note here is the year of release, 1983, as while there are indeed some metal classics from that year (Mercyful Fate released ‘Melissa’, Dio ‘Holy Diver’, Metallica ‘Kill em All’, Iron Maiden ‘Piece of Mind’, Marillion ‘Script’ etc), it is not a time from which AOR has come out particularly well (yes I know that Journey released ‘Frontiers’ that year, and Streets released their debut, but you know what I mean). By the time this was released, Pat Benatar had already got four albums under her belt and while she was obviously an influence she was obviously in a different league to Lisa.
This really is only for AOR completists as this has previously only be available on the original vinyl, but note that this only contains the original six songs so 24 minutes seems a bit short for an album as it is much more like an EP (and is catalogued as such on RYM). Yesterrock have been releasing some real gems, but this isn’t one of them.
