One Master - Lycanthropic Burrowing

Kev Rowland

Only singer/guitarist Valder has been there since their 2002 beginnings, but the rest of the guys have been there since before their widely acclaimed 2015 album ‘Reclusive Blasphemy’, so I was looking forward to seeing what the new release would be like. I wasn’t surprised or disappointed, as here is old school black metal with modern production and tastes. While classic Celtic Frost and Darkthrone have obviously been major influences, they have given it an additional brutality all their own. This is what black metal is all about to my ears, none of the hammer house of horror or ambient music that is almost new age, this is music designed to take you to a special place in hell. Raw and aggressive, this a furious attack from beginning to end, with the only real disappointment being that it is only thirty-five minutes long.

‘Lycanthropic Burrowing’ is released on July 14th on CD, digital, and limited vinyl formats via Eternal Death. Pre-orders are available at their Bandcamp page where you can also hear "Will Of The Shadow".
