Celeb Car Crash - Ambush!

When I first saw this my initial reaction was that this was going to be another glam/sleaze band, but a short while later I realised that the biggest issue that these four Italians have got is the band name. I mean, what were they thinking? It sounds as if they are a band that never really expect to get any radioplay but if these guys don’t make some serious waves in the metal community then there is something very wrong indeed. Very heavy, very melodic, played with a swagger that is very West Coast this is an album that has virtually everything going for it. From the first song to the last this is quality rock, nothing more or less. It is interesting also to note that the one cover on this hard hitting debut is a well controlled and conducted take on “I Am The Walrus” which may not have the same joy and passion as the version by Yellow Matter Custard but is damn fine nonetheless.
